WORD Day 2023

For this World Young Rheumatic Disease Day (WORD Day), Take a Pain Check Foundation is going big!

On Saturday, March 18, 2023, we are lighting up landmarks across the globe Blue for World Young Rheumatic Disease Day (WORD Day). A total of 24 landmarks will light up blue this weekend in order to raise awareness and demonstrate solidarity for young people affected by rheumatic diseases. 

We encourage you to: 
* Dress up in blue, gather your crew, and make your way to the landmark!
* Take photos to showcase you and your crew being a part of this worldwide celebration!
* Post your photos on social media, tagging us and using any of the hashtags: #LightingitBlueforWorldYoungRheumaticDiseaseDay #lightitblue#takeapaincheck

The most festive photo will win your favourite bundle of Take a Pain Check merchandise! Each photo entry will be automatically entered in a raffle to win more prizes.

About WORD Day

What is WORD Day?

World yOung Rheumatic Diseases Day is an annual event that takes place on the 18th of March.  WORD Day also includes several social media campaigns including the patient voice, patient organizations and charities, promotional and educational videos and much more. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness so that pediatric rheumatic diseases are diagnosed at a quicker rate. 

Take a Pain Check Foundation and WORD Day

As a Canadian registered, international youth-led community and non-profit organization founded in self-advocacy to empower youth with rheumatic diseases, TAPC hosts yearly initiatives to mark the day on March 18th to raise awareness for youth with rheumatic disease.
